A Thermal Mass Flow Meter is a highly accurate flow measurement instrument designed for the direct measurement of gas mass flow without requiring pressure or temperature compensation. The meter operates on the thermal dispersion principle, where heated sensors measure the heat transfer caused by the flowing gas. The amount of heat dissipated is directly proportional to the mass flow rate of the gas.
Thermal Mass Flow Meters provide excellent accuracy, wide turndown capability, and low-pressure loss, making them ideal for measuring air, natural gas, biogas, compressed air, nitrogen, oxygen, and other industrial gases. The meter delivers reliable and repeatable measurements even at very low flow rates and is widely used in process industries, power plants, water treatment facilities, chemical plants, and environmental monitoring applications.
The instrument features a microprocessor-based transmitter with digital display, self-diagnostics, and communication options such as 4–20 mA, HART, Modbus, and pulse outputs for seamless integration with PLC, DCS, and SCADA systems.
